Night Shift Trucker’s Coffee

I first heard of Bulletproof Coffee from this blog post about a variation  while I was driving a tractor-trailer on the graveyard shift. So of course I had to see if I could make my own cheap hack, and it worked!

Put it in the blender. Drink it.

For a while, I made this every day. Now I just do it on days when I’ll need something extra, only because I’m too lazy. First, I felt clarity. I was mentally alert, but not jittery, and it lasted about 8 to 9 hours with no other caffeine. Being a trucker, I also noticed that I didn’t have to pee as much. A nice, unexpected perk. Another surprise: it was delicious when blended. I prefer this over a latte for taste.

If you want to know why it works, coconut oil is high in medium-chain triglycerides. There’s some other science in that blog post I mentioned above, which I don’t understand… But either way, enjoy!
